Values Clarification Course
This course is designed to help participants pause, reflect, and reconnect with what truly matters to them. Through guided readings, ranking exercises, and honest self-assessment, students will identify their core personal values, understand how those values shape decisions, and examine moments when their choices didn’t align with what they believe in.
Beyond self-discovery, the course builds practical skills: setting SMART, values-based goals; recognizing healthy versus unhealthy influences; making amends and rebuilding trust; and creating a concrete action plan for living according to one’s values daily. The course also includes two focused modules — one on the impact of violence, and one connecting personal values to substance use and its real-life costs (including a time-loss self-assessment for those affected by arrest).
What’s included:
- 12 lessons combining readings, ranking exercises, and deep self-reflection
- A full SMART goals framework with a worked example
- An extended values-clarification worksheet on violence (17 reflection prompts)
- A substance-use and values module, including a “Treasures Lost” video reflection and an Arrest Impact Time Loss self-assessment
- A final 10-question exam
- Approx. 4 hours to complete
In each lesson, you will need to complete the reflection form and remain on the lesson for the required 60-minute reflection period. The timer will continue counting while you are actively viewing the lesson.
Once the full 60 minutes have passed and you have completed your reflection, mark the lesson as Completed. You can then continue to the next lesson.
